I received my Masters in Social Work in 1992 from the University of Toronto in 1992 and took Basic and Advanced Mediation through the University of Toronto Continuing Education Studies Programme in the same year. I completed a mediation internship in court based mediation in 1993 and have been an Accredited Family Mediator since 1993. Since then, I have received multiple trainings in Intimate Partner Violence, Advanced Mediation, Child Welfare Mediation, Family Law, and Family Arbitration as well as ongoing clinical training in family therapy, personality disorders, extensive training in couple therapy and EMDR trauma treatment. I was a psychotherapist for the EAP Programme for the Peel Board of Education for over twenty years providing both mediation and psychotherapy services.

I was an instructor and one of the supervisors of the internship programme at the Peel Family Mediation Service in the Brampton court for over fifteen years. I have been a presenter at multiple conferences and professional development events in mediation and the legal profession over the past two decades.

I have been an agent of the Office of the Children’s Lawyer, a Section 30 Family Assessor, Parenting Co-ordinator, Family and couple counsellor, individual psychotherapist, and Collaborative Law Family Professional for over 20 years.

I have sat on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Association for Family Mediation and currently belong to The Ontario Association for Family Mediation (OAFM) the Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario, the Ontario Association of Social Workers, the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Niagara Collaborative Practice Group. I am the former Chair of the Hamilton Halton Collaborative Law Practice Group.

I have provided training in Family Mediation and Collaborative Law Level One and Two and Interdisciplinary Training since 2002 with multiple trainers and co-taught the Family Mediation Certificate Course at York University for a number of years with Richard Shields prior to establishing Family Mediation Ontario Training Courses in 2018.
